How is it possible, a billion-dollar company is unable to add basic required functionalities to an application, and website that people, including myself, pay a subscription fee for?
I'd like to make a custom clip, using a Google camera, through the google home application, or website only to find out I'm unable to create custom video clips that I can save to my devices.
What's the point of paying a subscription, if the functionalities I pay for have no further usage other than displaying them on my device?
I want to use unregistered events as evidence, and I can't do that.
Not to mention, through the website, home.google.com, I'd at least be able to record it through my computer, but the website doesn't even have the functionality to browse through the camera's history.
I've always recommended Google's cameras to friends and family, however, this is hugely disappointing and currently, a waste of my subscription.
When can we expect some proper functionality restored? We've been forced away from the Nest Application, which had all functionalities we wanted, yet so far we've had a lackluster of features restored.

I just bought and installed two battery cameras with solar panels only to find out I can't integrate them into my Nest Connect SUBSCRIPTION that I have been paying for.
I am so done with this company.😠

By "Nest Connect SUBSCRIPTION", do you mean a Nest Aware subscription? If your cameras are in the same Google Nest "home/structure" on the same Google Account, they are covered by the same Nest Aware subscription. (Our battery camera is.)
However, when using a solar panel for the battery camera, I think you can only get event video history even if you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription (24/7) because the solar panel is NOT powering the camera but only trickle charging the battery, and the camera is running off of battery power, which does not allow 24/7 recording. See this Google Nest Help page:

You are correct about the subscription. However, the camera will not show or attach to the Nest system even when plugged into the wall inside.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the Nest system". The newer Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in Sept. 2021 get installed only in the Google Home app, while our older cameras and doorbells continue to work in the Google Nest app.

That's the problem. Nest worked perfectly. Once we were forced to Home, which is an unfinished pile of trash, a lot of features we came to expect from Nest, are simply not implemented into the Home app.
As you said, since September 2021 the newer cameras switched to Home, which means we lack features, for which we pay a subscription for to make use of, for almost 2 years now.

This is exactly my point. I have on more than one occasion used the "custom clip" feature to provide footage for law enforcement and now I have zero idea how I would facilitate this going forward .

Hi everyone,
Thanks for posting in our Community. I genuinely understand the inconvenience you have faced. We appreciate your reports here in the Community.
As many of you may have noticed, you can only create custom clips for Nest cameras that are setup and controlled in the Nest app. I totally understand that this is a good feature to use with your new Nest cameras, but it isn’t available in the Google Home app. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it.
Keep an eye on the Google Nest Community page for any updates. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns, as I will be locking this in 24 hours if I don't hear back from you again. If you have other questions or concerns, feel free to start a new thread, and we'll be happy to help.
Thanks for the help, MplsCustomer.
Best,
Lance

I absolutely would if I thought anyone was listening. Just another reason for me to leave the Google ecosystem. What a shame.
