I have 11 Nest Cameras now as a result of the killing off of the old Nest. I'm using the new google home app and am trying to figure out if this is a bug or by design that I cannot scrub through footage. I have the one timeline with events and the other timeline which appears to be one that I should be able to scrub through and see the video move/play as I traverse the timeline.
I use this all the time to find events that might not be captured by motion/AI.
Is this lack of video scrubbing actually by design or is this something that just doesn't work reliably on the Google Home app?
I have the latest iPhone 15 Pro Max and the latest iPad all sitting on 1.5GBps network and running wifi speeds that range 600mbps to over 1Gbps (I have newest wifi router). So definitely not a bandwidth problem here. I can scrub through the few legacy Nest doorbell I have left on the actual nest app no problem at slow or fast speed and it plays fine.

Google Nest has NOT killed off the Google Nest app--at least not yet.
We are not using the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app and have not "transferred" any of our 1st gen Google Nest cameras to that version of the Google Home app because the version is still beta, because so many Nest app features are still missing (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234#zippy=%2Cnest-app-only-features), and because our 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells cannot be "transferred".
So we are still happily using the Google Nest app for most of our cameras and doorbells.

I did some experimenting with all the cameras and it appears the legacy Nest cameras are the ones that will not scrub even though they have been transferred over to Google Home and used in that app now. I have a few more Google cams I can swap those out with and then only one left will be my nest doorbell

You can "transfer" your 1st gen Google Nest cameras back to the Google Nest app:
"Q: What if I change my mind and want to transfer my camera back to the Nest app?
A: We want you to try the new camera experience in the Home app so while in Public Preview, you’ll be able to reverse transfer your camera. Visit our Help Center for detailed instructions."
