Video Doorbells draining really fast (battery)

Every since the last update all 3 of my video Doorbells have been draining the batteries super fast no matter which battery usage option is selected.  Also to top it off the battery percentage is also showing incorrect values, for instance they currently show 73%ish for all 3. But when taken off and plugged in to charge they are completely drained and at 0% which is why they say offline and don't turn on.  This is getting super annoying, and am just wondering if anyone else is having the same issues??? I'm having to recharge basically every 3 or 4 days, when normally I can get around 2 weeks out of a charge.

Hi @Alex717,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your three Nest Doorbell (battery) devices have been draining batteries super fast and that the battery percentage is also showing incorrect values. This is not the experience to expect from an update that may improve the experience. I'm happy to assist you.

There was an issue with firmware version 1.77 that caused some Nest Doorbell (Battery) devices to lose their charge quickly when connected to a transformer. We have initiated a rollback that should have reached all users by last Saturday, August 30, 2025, evening.

The minimum battery charge needed for firmware updates is 10%. If your device’s battery is below 10%, please unmount the doorbell and plug it into a USB-C charger (a standard 5W charger should work). After the doorbell hits > 10% charge, it will download the updated firmware (v1.75c) automatically. Once you verify the updated firmware version (1.75c) using the Google Home app, you can reconnect your device to the transformer wires (if you have a hardwired installation) and mounting bracket.

Please let me know if the issue persists.

Regards,

Anders
