Visitor Announcement - Chime Only Option

Confirmed with Google Support - There is currently no way to limit the visitor announcement on Google Home devices (Mini, etc) to just the chime and exclude the spoken portion of the alert.

It would be great to have the following visitor announcement alert options for Home devices added to the Doorbell

  • Chime only, no speech
  • Speech only, no chime
  • Chime and speech (for all alerts)
  • Chime and speech for only recognized people

Agree, this would be great. I recently changed from a Ring doorbell to the Nest doorbell thinking in would integrate better with my Nest Hub Max. So far it seems to have far less features and not as user friendly. Why it won't work with the Nest app is beyond reason. Why do we need two separate apps to work with Nest products?
