Hey everyone,

We recently announced our newest line of Nest Cams and Doorbell and we know soon many of you’ll finally get your hands on one (or more) of these devices! We’ve learned a lot from our previous cameras and doorbells and we used that knowledge to be very intentional with our newest design - products that enhanced the connected home experience and provide smart and helpful security for you and your family.

Earlier this month, we announced 4 new products:

You can check out the Google Store for more details on our cameras.

Everyone wants a camera that’s reliable, keeps their home safe and has smart notifications so they’re in the know about the important things. Our next generation Nest Cams and Doorbell were built to deliver that experience. A few things you’ll love about these products are:

  • Smarter Alerts  — we believe it was important to give customers more features right out of the box so they could begin enjoying the benefits of our Nest Cam and Doorbell right away. Now customers can access features like activity zones and smart alerts (person, animal, vehicles and even packages on Nest Doorbell) without a subscription.
  • Versatility in the home — having your cameras wherever you want them is super important, so with our new battery powered Nest Cams, they no longer need to be near an outlet or doorbell wires. With a wire free design, installation couldn’t be simpler.  But don’t worry, if you miss the wires, we’ve added the ability to wire the battery powered Nest Cams (power cable sold separately) and Doorbell.
  • Reliability - if there’s ever a power or Wi-Fi outage, the new battery powered Nest Cam and Doorbell will record up to one hour of events (about a week) on device and the Nest Cam (wired) can also record on device if Wi-Fi is down.
  • Google Home app — have more than one Nest camera? You can view compatible devices in one place along with your other compatible connected devices in the Home app. You’ll also be able to see all your events quickly and view your live feed 24/7 from the comfort of the app.

And this isn’t all! You can always check out our keyword blog posts to learn much more about our Nest Cams and Doorbells: News from Google Nest: The latest Cams and Doorbells are here & Ask a Techspert: How do Nest Cams know people from pets?

Thanks,
Rachel

Scheduling feature to turn cameras on and off is sorely needed. It’s available on the old cameras which used the Nest app. Unfortunately not a feature in the Home app that is required to use the new cameras.
