When will the new Google Nest Cams be able to work with the Nest App?

The New Google Nest Cam (battery) does not work with the Nest App. Rather you must use the Google Home App. This creates several issues.

1. I would need to install the Google Home app on every device I currently use the Nest App on. That would take a significant amount of time.
2. I would need to educate members of my family on the new UI. Again, that would take a significant amount of time as they are already familiar with the Nest App.
3. The Home App's UI, in my opinion, is considerably inferior to the Nest App's UI. In the Nest App, I can view every camera and see the temperature on every thermometer on the home screen. In the Home App's UI, I have to open each device to see anything! In addition to the loss of function, the Home App's UI is simply ugly! Especially when compared to the simple elegance of the Nest App.

Since the new Nest Cam Battery does not work with the Nest app, it is dishonest and fraudulent to call it a "Nest" camera.

Further, since Google says, regarding this camera, that it's committed to providing a seamless Home app experience for our customers," why can't we configure our existing Google Nest cameras and doorbells and view their history from the Google Home app and why can't we access the new Nest camera online from our computer? Why do we have to use two different apps to get notifications from our Google Nest cameras? Why does the new Nest camera not have the Enhance feature present on our existing Nest cameras to set zoom when recording history? Why can we only get email notifications from our existing Nest cameras and not the new Nest camera? This is NOT "seamless."

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am terribly sorry that you have been inconvenienced by not being able to use your new Nest Hello Battery Doorbell within the Nest App. I understand that it must be frustrating to not have all of your cameras together. But at this time, until stated later, the new Battery powered cameras that were newly released are only available in the Google Home App. Thank you for providing feedback, and I appreciate your patience.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with today.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi John Barns,   As you can see by reading the 1000's of posts here and on other websites, the user community of the old nest cams is in complete shock and disappointment over these new cams.   Many have returned their cameras for a refund (including me).  The GOOGLE HOME app is light years behind the NEST app.  And Google has said the will not ever make the new cams work with the NEST app.  They will add features to the GOOGLE HOME app over time starting in 2022.   Also a big shock to me is the inability to view the new cams on your computer's web browser.  That is not longer supported either.

Hey folks,

Wondering if you still needed assistance with this issue? Please let me know!

Brad.

My reply was deleted by Google, so I'm re-posting it.

Yes, assistance is still needed. Please answer the original question.

When is Google going to update the Google Nest app to add the support that it deliberately omitted for the new Google Nest Camera Battery and Google Nest Doorbell Battery? If Google is not going to do this, then when is Google going to add full support for existing Google Nest cameras and doorbells to the Google Home app, including the capabilities currently supported in the Google Nest app?

And when is Google going to update the home.nest.com website to add the support that it deliberately omitted for the new Google Nest Camera Battery and Google Nest Doorbell Battery?

@Brad

Yes. Answer the initial question.

When will Google correct its omission from the Google Nest app of support for the new Google Nest Camera Battery and Google Nest Doorbell Battery? If Google is NOT going to correct this omission, then when will Google add to the Google Home app full support of existing Google Nest cameras and doorbells, including the existing capabilities of the Google Nest app, so that it can provide the "integrated" and "seamless" experience it has promised? And when will Google provide an "integrated" and "seamless" website that provides for ALL Google Nest cameras and doorbells the existing capabilities found on home.nest.com?
