Had anyone ever notice that when going back to watch history of video recording there will be a block when nothing comes up but a white screen. The sound is still being recorded but there is no video due to this white screen that comes up.

Is there any bright item in live viewable area?

A TV could be the issue but this white screen issue shouldn’t be occurring in the first place. I had the gen 1 cameras for years and never had any issues like this until I decided to replace them with these new cameras 😞

Nothing we can do, have to wait for software update from Google.

Happening to me, too. Brand new camera.
11-05-2022 02:55 AM
Mine does this too.

FIX: for me, mine was mounted on the ceiling and had much of the ceiling in its camera view. I pointed it down more so the ceiling wasn’t in view. That has seemed to fix the white screen problem. Hasn’t happened in a week or so as of today. Fingers crossed!

Same issue here. Brand new camera.

Google support wants everyone to file a troubleshoot ticket while it's doing the white screen and file it under the google home app, not the camera

Any resolution to this issue? I just purchased Wired Indoor Nest Cam 2ndGen and the last few days this white screen issue has come up. If I turn off and on camera on the APP the issue goes away. I really need to trust this camera and I was concerned that others are experiencing the same issue. I have 6 other Nest Cam Battery cams that are outdoors and no issues at all to report.

The same white screen is happening to me as well but i do notice the video feed gets weird before the whiteout. Also when i watch live it is a whiteout.

This has been happening to me too though only with my Nest wired cam. The battery cam doesn't seem to be having this issue. It pops up randomly and definitely isn't related to night vision since I keep that setting on Off.

This is happening to me too, brand new camera.
Doorbell Battery and Outdoor battery (plugged in) do not have this issue.

More and more users reporting the problem of the white sceeen, today my wired google indoor second gen cam, recorded for the entire night the "white screen" camera is just 5 months old. This is unbelievable and need google tech support to look into this matter urgently. Nest first gen cameras which are older never faced this problem, so a solution must be proposed by a proffesional member

Mine did this a week into ownership. Maybe that is why they were on sale. I cannot believe Google has not resolved this right away. It is unacceptable.
11-14-2022 01:28 PM
This issue keeps reoccurring with the wired indoor cam, and frankly this is unacceptable! Lost history/footage is absolutely unacceptable for a home camera!

Same problem as others have described. The video feed randomly becomes all white and then it's stuck there until I turn the camera off/on. Because the video feed is white, I'm also not getting any notifications for people/objects being detected, which is a big problem for a security camera.
I tried a hard reset on the cam. I've also tried changing night vision to ON instead of AUTO. But the problem persists.

It’s been about 3 days since I got the white screen. Not sure what has changed. I didn’t do anything special to the camera so not sure what’s going on.

Glad I’m not alone but google has to do something! Sometimes it’s white, rarely it works properly. Been going on a couple of months now and seems to be getting worse. An accident happened in my house and I don’t know how, no worries I’ll check my camera….wrong..all I got was a white screen. Resets and unplugging works temporarily but a long time fix or new cameras need to happen.

So now instead of a white screen the video will look a bit fuzzy/blurred and then when looking at the footage, the brightness of the video like pulses or looks like white flashes? Is this happening to anyone else?
11-24-2022 10:22 AM
Hello, I had the same problem. Just turn the camera OFF and ON again in the app. The problem is fixed.
11-24-2022 10:44 AM
If you read this thread, it's been posted multiple times that turning it off and on fixes it, but that's only a temporary solution. It'll reoccur for you again very soon. They need to come up permanent fix this asap!
11-24-2022 01:50 PM
Mine was permanently fixed by angling it away from the ceiling more.
11-24-2022 01:55 PM
YAH RIGHT ❗
That's only what you "think" my friend...
continuously monitor it and you WILL SEE the WHITE SCREEN from time to time FOR SURE
Highest Blessings Still 🙏🏿

I did it like 3-5 weeks ago. It used to happen all of the time. I haven’t seen it once since.
11-24-2022 03:14 PM
Has anyone else had success by doing this?
11-25-2022 10:01 AM
@Ivan3My Camera is already pointing down from the ceiling and I still occasionally get a white blank screen with audio. This seems to be a problem with the Gen 2 Cameras using the Google Home App. I do not have this issue with my older model Nest Cameras that use both the Nest App (FYI: Far superior version) and the Google Home App. Restarting the Nest Camera (just turning it off/on via the app) fix this but it will come back and would be nice to have a fix for this. Especially if there are no warnings. I have about 5 straight days of a white screen. Google Nest team please fix this or even do a temp fix of detecting the white screen and doing a self-restart. Thanks

Nest cams on Google home suck! Wish they had left Nest alone -- Nest (and previously Dropcam) worked flawlessly out of the box and all of the time (Dropcam even had 24/7 recording saved for 30 days for $10/camera).

Joining in the thread here, I bought a 3 pack of cameras just last week and this issue is already happening. First it happened on one in a rather dark room, so I shut night vision off on all the cameras.
Then it went away for a day, and now a different camera is doing it in a brighter room with night vision off.
I've now set up my routines to shut the cameras off every 12 hours for 2 minutes, then turn them back on so I can hopefully avoid the white screen. Please fix this issue so I can actually trust the brand new cameras in my home!
12-02-2022 08:54 AM
I don't have anything to add other than that this is also happening to me, causing any of the gen 2 cameras I have to work <50% of the time which isn't great for a security system. Setting up routines to restart the cameras every 8 hours would probably work, but I'd still have several hours of white screen each day as it seems to go white randomly.

I found this article reporting degraded night mode experience since ~ September. Even if they don't mention white screen issue, the timeline match with this problem. I can also confirm the night vision was super worst since September.
The good news: it looks like the two impacted cameras have been updated (version 1.65) today. Night vision is amazing now. I hope the white screen issue have been fixed as well.
12-05-2022 01:16 PM
SOLUTION: I upgraded to the Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery) and the problem went away. So I think you unfortunately need to throw away your buggy and awful Nest Cam wired and get the more expensive model. 🙃
12-05-2022 01:17 PM
"SOLUTION: Stop using it" 🤣
12-26-2022 07:42 AM
This is exactly what I did as well. No issues whatsoever in the battery model that I have permanently wired.
12-18-2022 02:47 PM
Same here. Please patch the issue Google.
