Hello Community Members,
Over time, I have setup 8 Nest Cameras in my house. Here is the screenshot of weekly data usage for the cameras. I am curious why each of them are downloading so much data.
Is this expected and how can it be fixed?

Hi there,
Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. If you have an active Nest Aware subscription, it is possible that could be video, or Familiar Faces, etc. so it just depends on some of those factors. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Best regards,
Brad

Hi @Brad , thanks for your reply!
Yes, I have Nest Aware subscription. I can't imagine how Familiar Faces would take so much bandwidth. You mentioned about video as well. Can you please share more on how it can contribute to higher download?
I can understand about the upload bandwidth as Nest cameras would be consuming some bandwidth to upload the videos that those cameras have recorded, so don't understand what those cameras are downloading.

@Brad thanks for the article. I read it and it talks about uploading recorded video when camera comes back online. Uploading will consume upload bandwidth. In my case, all those cameras are downloading lot more than uploading.
Here is latest screenshot from Google Home app for the whole month. All the cameras have downloaded enormous 19+ GB but uploaded only 1-2 GB. It is baffling to see so much download.
