I have the newest Nest cam (outdoor with battery) and the only option to connect is with Google Home, not the Nest app.

We know how important it is to be able to view all your Nest devices on one app. If you have the new Nest Cam (wired), it's exclusive to the Home app and we have no news to share about having these devices available on the Nest app. 1/2

Our long term plan is to use the Home app as the one place to control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices. We appreciate your feedback as we're looking for ways to improve our products and services. Stay tuned on our social media channels for more news. 2/2

No. They are hoping we settle down and don't go through with the lawsuit

Hello everyone,

We appreciate your interest in our community. We are aware that the Nest app is not offering this feature. I looked through our resources, but I couldn't find any information about when this feature will be accessible. I’d suggest you send your feedback with our Send your feedback form. We are constantly searching for ways to get better and you should give comments to the Google Engineering team to let them know about your problem. This is the greatest approach to inform them of this, even though they won't reply to you personally. If you have any other queries, please let us know.

Best,

Emerson

Same issue here, bought the camera to use to monitor contractors working in the house while I use my PC, and I have to open the google home app to do it. Will be returning the camera.

@User123456 - We’re all waiting on a response to these concerns.

They will NEVER reply or even be part of this matter. Their customer service is way low and I use to think they were up there with apple as far as customer service goes.

TRASH. The Google Home app SUCKS! Waste of money and now I have cameras spread across two apps. The Nest App is MUCH better than Google Home. What the heck, Google?

So the nest doorbell doesn't work in the nest app... Super disappointed probably going to return it

I'm adding my frustration to the list after having purchased two Nest Cams indoor/outdoor (battery) and spending far too much time trying to bring them into my Nest app that has a Nest doorbell, two thermostats and two temp. discs I now find that it cannot be done. Just plain inferior engineering in my view. Rather than take them back I have so much time invested I'm hoping that Google will get it's act together and allow for the Nest app on my iPhone to bring all devices together in one location. Looking forward to Apple entering the market so I will have a choice and expect that Apple to do a far better job.

Completely agreed. Google needs to fix this ASAP. Allow "nest" products to be used in the nest app, and enable full control over camera such as scheduled time recordings, similar to the competition.

Disappointed with having to use two apps. Might return wireless camera.

This is unacceptable. It is baffling how a company like Google could roll these cameras out without proper Web browser support. I feel like as a project manager I would have solved this issue before worrying about the new camera tech. Cant use the Nest App on a web browser from my PC and the box my new wireless indoor/outdoor camera came with says "Nest Cam" on the box. Does the service I pay for via Nest cover my google home account? Will I have the 30 days backup service I pay for? I tried calling Google support and the operator couldn't get a confirmation email sent to me to discuss my account. I just mounted this camera. I dont not want to uncover these fresh holes I just drilled in the side of my home to return this camera at a loss (B&H 10% restock plus shipping) to tuck tail and buy the Wyze system.

Has anyone found another products?  I cant wait to replace this crappy camera and app!!! I just love the nest app!

Agreed with everyone here!! I have been a big fan of the nest product but it seems that by forcing us to be GOOGLE Home has ruined the product. I am returning it now

I know, it's very frustrating. They should remove the name Nest on this products.

I’ll be returning the extra three / new nest Cameras I just purchased as the Home app is nowhere near parity with the Nest app (iOS). I don’t understand why Google doesn’t allow the new cameras to be added in the Nest app. Very disappointing customer experience.

Honestly, I just ran in to this problem today.  Put in a new camera to cover our hot tub while we are on vacation.  Am I missing something?  The google home app is a piece of **bleep**.  The nest app was great. What were these clowns thinking.

Is this going to get fixed? Has anyone at Google answered anyone?

nobody at @User123456  has responded yet that we are aware of.

I was so blind sided when I bought the new wired indoor nest camera. Over the last few years I have been looking around for a good system and nest was absolutely stunning. I loved how the app worked and all my cameras were consolidated into one app. However, this is not the case anymore!  This came to my realization a couple of weeks ago when I went to the Nest app to add a new device and it automatically took me to the Google Home app. Now, just like in the past with other cameras, I have to use two different apps just to be able to see the new indoor one. I have four cameras (three were bought together over a year ago) and now because of one I have to forcibly use the home app. I’m not sure if someone had mentioned this before but if you’re trying to review video footage in the Google home app you CANNOT unless is the newer cameras. So you have to go back to the Nest app to review video footage from your older (1+ years) cameras! This is just beyond frustrating! In the Nest app you also have the function of rewinding video footage by 15 second increments but with the Google Home app you CANNOT. Also, with the Nest app you get instant notifications on your phone when your camera has spotted someone but the Google Home app ….. DOES NOT! We long time customers will be the ones that will suffer the consequences because of all this poor planning from this company.
just in case you were wondering I’ve been a Nest app user since 2016 when everything was perfect.

Omg.  I have been a loyal nest user and just bought an extra camera (google) to add to coverage.  HAH!  What a piece of crap.  I am boxing it up and returning it to the store.  Does anyone know how to reach Nest.  I need to delete my account for good.

I bought 6 and I'm returning them. I will stay away from Google products.

How do we get a response from Google on this??  I agree with everyone here and the performance and user experience with new Google Cameras is terrible and totally unacceptable.

I just bought a Google Nest Hub Max and a Nest Cam. Thankfully, the Hub Max has a camera built in that the Nest app recognizes. It refuses to recognize the nest cam though, which makes no sense at all. So while I can set a schedule for the Hub for recording while I'm away, I'm stuck with getting a notification on my phone every time I walk by my Nest cam unless I manually turn it on and off before leaving the house each day. This is ridiculous. I'm returning the darn thing altogether.

Just discovered the same after unboxing and setting up... Returning the new camera.

unbelievable! I’m returning my new camera as well. Waited patiently till Black Friday to buy it. Waist of time. Horrible customer experience!

Would love to see the braintrust at Google that thought it was a good idea to force everyone to use GoogleHome by not allowing you to link their cameras to Nest App! I will not be buying the cameras!

Yes - Nest Cameras not working with the Nest app, where is the logic. Has anyone tried to use the Home app for cameras.... it is like stepping back in time. It is the same problem with Wifi too. Google forced everyone off the old app which was far superior. It took me three attempts to add a new wifi point. It used to be seamless. Anyway new camera is packaged ready for return. The returns process is simple, though I see the US attracts a $35 restocking charge. That seems pretty harsh given the very misleading sales tactics.

Agreed - just wasted an hour and searched this up and found this post! How can you sell a product with the NEST name and not allow it to work in the NEST app! Returning right now.

I just added cameras to my Google Home app and spent too much time trying to figure out why they weren't showing up on my Nest app...so I went to the internet to find this feed.  I hope this isn't really true.  I have had my Nest app for several years and it works great, I view it from my phone and my iMac.  I wish I would have known this before I decided to add more cameras. UGH! While I am on a role...does anyone know how to add the Google Home app to an iMac?

Unfortunately, and reason why I am returning my new camera, is the Google Home app is only supported on Android and iOS devices! You can't use it on a home computer!

I am so glad that Google is working on making things better.  It looks like Google is seeing all of these complaints.  I think that it is a good thing that everyone who has expressed their concerns is helping.  Just to keep the ball rolling everyone should keep giving their input. So, on that note...I still would like to see the cameras on my laptop/computer...Google are you going to work on that aspect for us too?

Not on the lap top? that's worse than I thought. Oh I see a burglar on my phone? Where? see the dot? Good grief.

Google isnt doing anything to help.  Theyre lame like Gsuite

Does anyone have any idea if Google is even aware of the problems all of us are having yet? This is unanimous -- everyone hates using the Google Home app and for everyone that already has Nest equipment, we are being royally screwed here.

very frustrating i have 6 nest smoke detectors, Nest front door bell, two Nest indoor cameras, and two nest outdoor cameras.  I tried ordering a replacement Nest cameras for one that's acting up only to find i can't add it ot the Nest app i've been using for years.  It will only add to Google home app.  Home app is inferior to Nest app, just got RMA to return the new camera.  I guess it's time to look for Apple Home compatible gear.

I will join in on the complaint. We spent several thousand dollars on mest cameras have used them in two homes for years. Added one wireless camera and it’s the only camera I can’t see in my nest app. This is outrageous!!! google get it fixed so we can use the nest app which is far superior to the google home POS. So does this mean any nest device you add will not be available on the nest app? Extremely frustrating!!!

Just Bought the nest cam with spot light found out you have to use google home, talk about a obsoleted system. Nest is light years ahead of what google put out. either they fix this quickly, or i am returning mine and going with Ring at least they are modern, not stuck in the 50's.
