Why does Google nest hub keep showing "camera feed not available"?

My nest hub keeps showing "camera feed not available" after a few minutes no matter what I do. I have reset my router, unplugged the hub, force stop the app, synchronized all devices. This has been happening for over a year. The camera will stay on a little longer by using the voice command but then goes back to "camera feed not available". My internet connection is good and my hub is close to my router.

I have this problem as well, it started a couple of weeks ago, it's on all of my hubs and with all of my cameras.

I have tried everything to resolve it but I can't.

Same.  Something has happened Google side to cause this.  We use nest cams as baby monitors and stream them all night to two hubs.  They been perfect for 18 months, now for last two weeks they are dropping the feed every 30 mins  making them redundant for the purpose we use them for.

Same here,  I monitor my cameras at my desk with the Hub, but just recently it keeps disconnecting. 😞

Exact same problem here. We’ve had 5 Nest cameras up and running for over a year, one being used as a baby monitor. We’d occasionally run into the “camera feed is not available”, “camera is not turned on”, “camera is offline” error messages but for the most part they worked pretty well. But as of a few weeks ago they’ve become totally unreliable. My wife goes nuts each time she logs in and can’t see the baby. The indoor camera in the nursery is by far the least reliable now. No changes had been made to our home networking set up before this started happening. Resetting the router, uninstalling/reinstalling the cameras , downgrading video quality doesn’t fix it. The issue might have coincided with the latest Nest/Google Home app update but not sure. What gives?

same issue to us. both with a nest camera, an imou ranger and an ezviz camera.
Sometimes it happens that only audio shows up (even thought nest hub says that the streaming is live); most of the times it just gives error.

Is there a Google moderator out there that can respond to this? I’ve noticed some of the graphics have changed recently when loading, it says Live in the top-left corner now etc. Seems like my connection issues (which have been really bad for over a month now) coincided with these updates

I'm having the same issue. Worked fine for months, then recently the feed from my Nest camera, displayed on the Nest Hub, drops for good, and displays "Camera feed is not available." But it is, as verified on my phone's Nest app, or by manually asking the hub to display the same camera feed again.

Same issue here with a Cubo baby monitor - “camera feed is not available” but works if requested again. Sad as makes this very unreliable solution as a baby monitor. Works fine with Alexa Show

Having same issue with cubo, its own app works great however my hub max able to stream most times but nest hub lags alot or just say unavailable...

Google Nest Hub is  piece of junk. Use it as door stopper.  No support from google whatsoever . Not buying another goohle product

Google, please fix this issue! I am also using as a baby monitor and the camera feed on the nest hub constantly disconnects making it useless. It works fine on my android phones so it is a problem with the nest hub. It is ridiculous that this is not being addressed as it has been months!

Anyone find a solve? This is a real problem for those of us trying to stream camera feeds for use as a baby monitor.

I'm done with google products

Still no fix. Is it possible that it's an internet issue? I have 200/200 mbps with 4 hubs, 3 minis, 4 cameras and a lot of other devices (~60) connected to a netgear R7800. Can someone with gigabit internet confirm whether they also have this issue?

I gave up on Google Nest Hub. BAD. PRODUCT.PERIOD. With no after sale support from google. I ended up using one of my older phone as a camera. It works flawlessly. Not buying any google more products ever. BTW all support is from India these days. Good luck with that too.

My iPad can stream perfectly. My nest hub is a piece of junk!

same problem for me in 2 google nest hub. is possible to reduce video resolution perhaps?

I tried lowering the resolution on all of my cameras a couple times before and it didn't make a difference.

Same issue here(UK). Nest Hub Max & Nest Hub(gen 1 & 2) all stopped streaming Cubo ai baby monitor as of today(2nd March 2022) after all Nest displays updated today.  In my case the message when trying to select the camera from any Hub is "Sorry, looks like baby camera isn't available right now."  Any advice appreciated, hugely frustrating not having the ability to stream the camera any more especially after purchasing additional Hubs specifically for this reason.

Exact same issue here in the UK St3ven1 - all working until today. "Sorry camera isn't available". It doesn't even try to connect.

I ticketed this last night Cubo (UK time) and they responded twice over night, said their engineers were looking into it. Just had an email to say their engineers have resolved the issue and it's now working again - pretty swift response from Cubo. Tested it on our Nest Hubs throughout the house and seems to be back working again!

Anyone still having issues, reset and set everything back up again from scratch - disconnect your Cubo account from Google Home, reset the camera completely (bit of a pain in the backside - Press and hold the multipurpose button on the Cubo for 10 seconds until you hear 2 short beeps), re-set the camera back up again, and reconnect your Cubo account to Google Home, power cycle and Nest Hubs in the house. That should do the trick, it solved it for us about a month ago at least! The issue in the past 24 hrs seems to be separate to the original thread issue.

Excellent, just checked all mine and they are back to working as before. Thanks for opening the ticket with Cubo.

Now just need to work out why the gen 1 hub streams perfectly but the gen 2 Hub's only displays a still picture that updates roughly every 4-5 seconds

If anyone wonders why their Cubo doesn't stream smoothly on a gen 2 hub, try a gen 1.  I've set them up side by side, same set up on both and the gen 1 hub streams smoothly, the gen 2 doesn't.

Glad that Cubo cares about its customers as it's clear at this point that the nest hubs have no Google support and are utter crap. I swear the original software worked better and it gets worse with every update. I am based out of the US and use nest cameras, both the old ones from nest and one new ones from Google. Both don't work properly with Google nest hubs (both first and second generation hubs as I have both). I wasted so much money on these hubs. This is an embarrassment for you, Google.

Me too!! I can watch my camera on my phone but on my desk my nest hub disconnects over and over. Ridiculous! The old Nest app is so superior to this piece of garbage. I could open on an iPad and watch continual streaming (I have animals I want to view).

For my experience. I had netvue, xiaomi, ezviv and all these worked with later than 30 seconds streaming... After 5 minutes disconnected. These are restrictions by Google. I tried Google Nest cam and no problem. Realtime streaming and 4 hour of video on nest hub, same of phone. But i can not give win to Google and will not buy their camera

I have had this issue for 2 years. The hub loses video feed constantly. Been the case since 2019. This is not a good nursery cam, and if they want it to be used for families, they need to make sure the feed doesn't shut off on the Hub.

Additionally, we need there to be:

- background noise option, when app is running but phone in use for other apps

- ability to show multiple feeds with audio at the same time (imagine you have two kids, in two different rooms, and you want to hear audio from both simultaneously throughout the night).

I can't imagine these are crazy needs, given the amount of times I see posts about these gaps on other websites. Nest could be an industry leader in this category if they just made the application family friendly (i.e. "useful for young parents"). Why has this been so hard for Google Nest to do??

My camera feed is constantly unreliable! Everyday it says camera feed is not available! Why? Are these home security cameras or not?

DiC

Mine continues to turn on and off, no continual streaming at all!

Danielo

Google is garbage, period

meyerbro

it’s happening now 99% of the times I turn the streaming on for my nest camera that serves as baby monitor. So much waste of money with Google!

DiC

Since Google bought Nest the new cameras turn off & on or off and I have to reload the screen. Just awful!!

DiC

I should add, my 2 old Nest cameras work perfectly, it's the new google ones that do not stream (yes, I pay for a subscription).

jmyers

I do; as well. $120 per year for a Nest Aware subscription feed into our homes while we are away?  Sounds like false advertising to me and I am almost 100% sure there is a lawsuit there for Google/Nest not providing the service(s) we are paying for!

jmyers

Seriously? Why? Why are we not suing Google, Nest, etc. Whomever is responsible for this garbage?

Danielo

Where is the support for this issue? Non existent I suppose. Google support is totally worthless.

ryannemeth

Also having this issue. Nest hub max steaming nest camera in a another room. Works for a few minutes then stops and gives the camera feed is not available error. The feed works on my phone at the same time. So definitely looks to be a nest hub issue

We have this issue as well. I say "Hey Google, Stream front yard camera" at least 50 times per day. It is so annoying as it is always off when I need it to be on. It always starts streaming right away but it is like there is a timeout set or something.
