Wired Nest IQ Indoor Not able to Factory Reset

akirkorian

Good morning,

I have a Nest IQ indoor camera that I've been using for a couple of years in the same spot and all of a sudden it stopped working. I brought the camera near the wireless router and did a factory reset by pushing the reset button with a pin, however after the initial chime and the yellow spinning light, it went dark and I never saw the blue blinking light.  I've tried holding the pin in for some time and have had no luck.

I know the blue light is working since I see it went i unplug and plug it back in.

Hello akirkorian,

I understand that you're having trouble with your Nest Camera IQ. I'm here to help you get back online. Just to check: Have you tried using a different USB-type C cable to turn on the Nest Camera? Did you try connecting it to a computer or a different power outlet just to see if it would have power?

I look forward to your response.

Best,

Edmond

I was able to get it to finally get to factory reset point, however whenever I try and readd it to my Nest account, it finds the camera but isn't able to set up the wireless. I've got the camera about 4 feet away from the wireless router and my mobile is about 3 feet away from both the camera and router.  I have another camera that I tried and it worked right away without issues.....

Note that it specifically says the camera cannot connect to the wi-fi (error code NC006(3.10). I tried this multiple times and get the same result.

Hi there,

Thanks for providing all the information. I’m sorry to hear if you’ve been having issues reconnecting it back to the Nest app. Let me help you get back online. Just to check, have you tried using a different phone? Did you try creating a new home structure and connecting the Nest camera to see if you get the same error message? Or instead of connecting to your WiFi, have you tried using a mobile hotspot instead?

I look forward to your response.

Best,
Edmond

Good morning,

Yes. I've tried with 2 different phones and my iPad with the same result. I've tried setting it up in the new home structure with the same result.  I have another wifi router which I set up to try it with and again the same results.

I ended up a neighbor house and tried it there as well with his wifi and still no luck.

Cheers.

Hello there,

Thanks for trying — have you trying connecting to a mobile hotspot and see if you got the same error message on the Nest app?

Regards,
Edmond

Good evening,

Yes. I got a mobile hotspot set up, and tried the whole process. I still get the same error where it is not able to connect the camera to the wireless.

Cheers.
