Wired doorbell losing battery

LGD88

Hi,

My nest doorbell is wired and is constantly losing power and turning off to charge and missing a lot of events. Is this something that happens with the wired doorbells? I noticed another post that indicated an infinity sign signifies that it’s wired in but I don’t see that anywhere on my app. I just see a battery when the battery is low. Do you think it’s not wired appropriately? It is a busy street but I assumed it would never lose battery and turn off to charge if it was wired.

I have a second generation doorbell from Google (wired) since approximatively last september and it never loses power. I don't see any infinity sign anywhere either.

Perhaps your doorbell is not wired properly or, the transformer providing the electric current is not adequate. Have you verified that your transformer is adequate as per the requirements?

Or, are you positive that your problem is with the power source?  If your camera is losing connection to your wifi, that could explain the loss of video recording. This is a very frequent problem reported in these pages and would be related to a deficient wifi signal.

I don’t think it’s a wifi problem as none of my other cameras have this issue. Must either be transformer or it’s not wired appropriately? I feel like I’m missing a lot of events because it’s out of power and charging half the time.

Can you check if the connections of your doorbell with the wire are tightly fitted? The wire connections could be loose. After you check this, if you still have problems, your transformer could be not adequate.

Out of the total of my five cameras, one did continously disconnect as it was some ways away from my router. I added a wifi extender and the problem was resolved. This to say, that if your router if some ways away from your router, this could cause the disconnects.

or rather, your router too far away from your doorbell...
