I have removed my nest doorbell (wired) as I am moving home. I noticed on the back of the doorbell that there is a charging port. Does this mean I can use this doorbell as a battery doorbell rather than wired?
If not, what is the charging point for?
Please help.

We have the older Nest Hello Doorbells, which also have a mini-USB charging port that is used to charge the small internal battery during initial setup. This battery is used to power the camera during the instant when the doorbell button is pressed and power is diverted to ring the internal doorbell chime. It also provides power during setup. It cannot be used to power the camera on an ongoing basis.
My guess is that the same thing is true of the 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell.
