Wireless cam not showing event history in Home app

I have two battery cameras running on battery. I don't have the Nest Aware subscription, the free version expired on 8 Jan 2024.

My expectation is that I can see up to three hours of event history footage, but I can't.

I open the Home app, goto one of the cameras' details pages and there are no event histories to look at. Yesterday (9 Jan 2024) there were a few, now those have vanished too.

Today I have set up to three minute clips recording and put them on the sensitive setting.

Most the time the cameras fail to connect with a live view even when I'm in the house on the same wifi.

Overall I think these cameras fail to deliver the basic feature set that I was sold.

Very disappointing.

So just to be clear you don't get 3 hours of recorded material in total.  What you get is any recorded clip will be available for 3 hours after hit happens.  Which is pretty useless if an event happens in the middle of the night and you want to see it in the morning.  To be honest you have to have the next aware subscription to make these cameras worth while.   I actually have the NEST AWARE PLUS because I LOVE having the 24/7 recording.  But make sure you have good internet UP bandwidth.  This also makes more sense if you have about 4 or more cameras to get the best bang for your buck.

Wow what a scam the marketing is.

The two $400 cameras offer zero value without a subscription.

Google continues to disappoint by over promising and under delivering.

@MTB001

Without a subscription, you get free event video history for the most recent 3 hours only; you do NOT get 3 hours of event history footage.

Google Nest's wording has confused other customers also.

"Up to 3 hours of event video history" means event history for the most recent 3 hours, not 3 hours of event history footage.

"Up to 30 days of event video history" means event video history for the most recent 30 days, not 30 days of event video history.

"Up to 60 days of event video history" means event video history for the most recent 60 days, not 60 days of event video history.

And:

"All video history is deleted on a rolling basis. This means that, depending on the Nest Aware subscription you have, older saved video is deleted from the cloud after a certain number of days."

Like @EmptyNester , we have 10 days of 24/7 video history and 60 days of event video history with a Nest Aware Plus subscription; the price isn't bad if you have several cameras and doorbells.
