You can't view NEST CAM footage history via web browser only app, only live. Why? Is it planned? Almost 2 years now... viewing footage on the Google Home app on your phone is good....but many times screen is way too small for getting what you need and makes history reviewing a pain (and drains your phone battery) . When will you be adding the ability to view footage history in a web browser on a normal computer like you could with NEST before you bought them?

Us users have been waiting for about a year for this feature. I have no idea why Google can't get this going. Sometimes I think they only have one programmer working on Nest Cam features.
Based on what you said I'm guessing you are on the newer Gen 2 cameras that come out in September 2021? If you are on the older Gen 1 cams then you can view recorded footage from your computer browser via www.home.nest.com. For me I have avoided the new gen 2 cams because of this.

I have 3 of the newer ones and 2 of the older ones...which really sucks cause I have to use two different websites or apps to do the same things as I should be doing with one. I would never expect this from the old Google back when they were the top tech company in the world....the new Google company is not the same company as we've all known. It's no longer a leader in tech and full of smart, amazing people. Its cheap labor now. Google products today are like buying cheap knock off Chinese junk now. Very sad as I miss the old Google

I agree with you 100%. I often wish Google had never bought Nest. When I bought the new cams (now 2+years ago) I returned them for a refund and bought used Gen 1 cams from ebay sellers so I could stay with the NEST app and I'm very happy.

And now, they are going to take away our ability to use the great cameras and believe if they give us two replacements, it's going to be OK. The replacement cameras are not the same as the originals. They have gone backwards. The original cameras were magnetic. I love them because I don't have to install them in most places. I can just stick them up and they work great. I got the replacement cameras and had to order an off-brand magnet and the magnet wasn't strong enough to hold the camera up, even though they are made for them. Amazon even had a warning that the item was returned more often than most products. It's an awful mess.

You can do it with something called Blue Stacks. However, this is just one more thing that Nest has screwed up. The original Dropcam and Nest cameras were awesome with the Nest App (which can be used on our phones and computers) and they force us to use the Google Home App which is awful in comparison. They are taking technology backwards rather than forward. I am so sad about what they have done. I was a die-hard Nest fan.

BlueStacks is not available for the Mac, and even if it were, it's a hokey way to get at SOME of the capabilities of the existing home.nest.com website.
Google Nest says they're working on adding additional functionality to the home.google.com website, but it's getting to be a long wait. The current limited "preview" version has been out since late October 2022.
