just purchased the battery doorbell, i was told the video would stay on all the time which was what i needed, now im being told  thats not true , if i install a transformer will it be able to stay on 24/7

Unfortunately, according to Google Nest, as posted in this blog, the just-released "Nest Doorbell (battery), even when installed using the optional wired installation, does not offer 24/7 continuous video history":

In this blog (which includes customer feedback), Google Nest says: "We know that those with wired doorbell connections prefer to have a doorbell that can also support 24/7 continuous video history (via the Nest Aware subscription). We are excited to share that we will be launching a 2nd generation of Nest Doorbell (wired) in 2022":

Yep, as already stated, the new Nest Hello released in 2021 does not support continuous video. Another option is to return the one you bought and purchase the original Nest Hello doorbell. There’s tons of them for sale at retailers all over. Otherwise you’ll need to wait until 2022 for the 2nd Gen.
