google nest camera outdoor battery- video isn't available, check back later

Have had a Nest doorbell for almost 4 years, with very little issues. Just recently added 2 google nest cameras battery, outdoor/indoor. Both are plugged in. My doorbell was on nest aware generation 1, but in order to have longer than 3 hours to view any video, I had to upgrade to the generation 2 or nest aware plus as well as add them only to Google home. I opted for the generation 2 (on a trial). My issue is that although the event shows up in the history, either it has the gray with a circle thing in the middle, the line is only gray on the timeline or only a few seconds of the video show in the timeline. Even after a day or so I still can't see the videos. I can stream live without issue, so Wi-fi connectivity is not an issue, nor is the speed or bandwidth. I have tried all the factory resets, remove device, restart router, ios update etc. Not sure what the issue could be? My doorbell video history in my nest app doesnt seem to have the same issue?

Hey there,


I am terribly sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your Nest camera! I'm sure it's frustrating, but I'm happy to look into this and see how we can help out. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. By doing this, it should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

For the most part, I think it has resolved itself. Not sure if during the "migrating" process (from gen 1 to gen 2) or having the feed at max quality was creating the issue? I had already tried all the recommended steps, including the restart, none of which helped immediately.
