is it possible to do an easy swap of an iq outdoor for an outdoor w/ floodlight?

I was hoping to replace a wired Nest IQ Outdoor with a wired Nest Cam with Floodlight. I ordered the Floodlight thinking the connectors would be the same and it'd be an easy swap... wrong.

Turns out my IQ was connected via a USB-C power cable whereas the Floodlight needs to be wired directly to a junction box. Did I order the wrong thing? Is there some easy way around this?

It seems really dumb that very similar cameras (both labeled 'wired') should have completely different input requirements. Any help or workarounds would be appreciated...

This may not help you now, but you could have ordered a Google Nest Battery Camera with the optional power cable (5 meters or 10 meters) to replace your Google Nest IQ Outdoor Camera. (The cable is NOT the same as the one used on the outdoor IQ camera.) We've had one for over two years, and when it's plugged in all the time it functions like a wired camera and runs on household current. By the way, the battery camera is actually the same camera that is used in the floodlight fixture. And it works only in the Google Home app, and NOT in the Google Nest app.

Thanks for the tip. The reason I upgraded is because I wanted a motion detected flood light for the front of the house. If there's no way to install this light without a junction box then I might just get a different brand altogether.

If you know what you're doing electrically, you could probably install a junction box so you have something on which to mount the floodlight fixture, and then hard-wire an extension cord (one rated for outdoor use) to the floodlight fixture, and then run the cord to the outlet where your IQ camera was plugged in.
