It is unacceptable that we can not view our new wired, Gen 2 webcams through a browser on laptop/desktop. Why are we forced to review any security issues through a mobile phone only? Google could clean up all the nest problems in 6 months if they would just get a General Manager who listened to the customers and was focused on getting rid of bugs and adding simple features.

Yea unfortunately this is one of the many limitations of any of the cameras released in 2021 and later. Google has said this functionality was coming in 2022 but no news yet.

Hi tetongreg, yes, this was a BIG disappointment by me and many others here on this forum. For that very reason I returned my new cameras (8 months ago) and ended up buying used Gen1 Cams from people on Ebay. I'm up and running with the NEST app and I'm very very happy. Hopefully someday Google will enhance the Google Home app to have ALL the features of the NEST app. But until that happens I'm staying with the older technology.

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.
However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

This is ridiculous. Why can I only view a supposed HD video on my tiny phone screen? Who thought it was a good idea to limit it to the phone? Terrible product.
