I installed a new google nest 2nd gen doorbell. It worked fine last night. Today the outside light was only green with the device displaying off line. So I pushed in the reset on the back of the google nest 2nd gen doorbell. The green light was now white. I was able to reset and install with the software and it works fine. I also have a good wi-fi signal. My Chamberlain garage door opener never disconnected from the wi-fi. So what caused the initial problem with only a green light and the device disconnected from the network?

If it happens again, you might want to check the strength of your Wi-Fi signal at your doorbell's location. To keep one of our Google Nest Outdoor Camera online (it's 25-30 feet from the nearest access point), we added an inexpensive high-gain directional antenna to our Linksys access point. And one of our Google Nest Hello Doorbells would drop offline even though it's about 10 feet from our Xfinity router/modem until we slightly relocated the router/modem.
If that's not the issue, you could try contacting Support to determine whether there's a hardware issue with your new doorbell:
1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
