new outdoor nest cameras

Nest cam battery weatherproof cable 32 ft installed, but camera does not appear to recognize beubg attached to cable.  Home app still shows battery draining usage.  How to set the camera to use power cable instead of battery?

Do you have the power cable plugged in so that the cable feeds towards the FRONT of your Nest Cam (Battery)?  (Yes, the orientation of the cable seems odd, as others have commented in this forum.)  No setup is required beyond plugging it in.  Our Nest Cam (Battery) is plugged in and we get a live feed when we select it in the Google Home app; if we go to Settings | Battery, it says "Plugged in" and shows an infinity symbol inside a circle and we can't tell the battery level unless we unplug the camera.
