"camera turned off to save battery" is mind bogglingly dumb

The only reason for the device to exist is the camera. No one cares about the doorbell part. Humans have a fancy thing called a hand that can do a sophisticated maneuver called knocking. Turning the camera off to save battery just means my battery capacity is smaller.

Without hyperbole or exaggeration, one single frame of video is worth a millennium of doorbell life. There is no conceivable case in which I would want the camera to turn off, therefore, it should only turn off if and only if there is too little battery to power the CMOS.

Hi @Tigerhawkvok,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand you have some concerns regarding the "Battery Saver" feature on your Nest Doorbell (Battery) device. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and opinions on this feature. Let me provide a little more information about it.

The option to turn off Battery Saver mode isn't available. We understand it's easy to forget to check your device's battery status, so we included Battery Saver mode to prevent the device from completely losing power.

We value your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve our services and products to provide you with the best experience possible. For this reason, please feel free to share your opinions on our feedback form. My team will be glad to review them!

Please let me know if you have any other questions! I'll be happy to answer them.

Best regards,

Debora
