5.1 Surround Sound not working with YoutubeTV

When I'm in YouTubeTV and I  look at on the stat for nerds on my new Chromecast with Google TV I don't see the AC-3/EAC-3 codecs and my Onkyo receiver doesn't show the signal as being 5.1 surround sound.
But when I watch YoutubeTV on my Roku Ultra plugged into the same receiver it does show the AC-3/EAC-3 codecs and the receiver does show the signal as coming across in 5.1 surround sound.
I've tried switching the HDMI ports on the receiver and I get the same result. My question is does the Chromecast with Google TV even support 5.1 surround sound in YouTubeTV?  If so how do you get it to work?

So I talked with the YouTubeTV Support team,   the response I got is it's working as expected.  At this time the YouTubeTV app does NOT support surround sound on Chromecast with Google TV.   It does with Roku devices.

You would think since they are both Google products they would work together, but not yet.
