A custom screensaver for Chromecast with Google TV

Hi!

I recently moved from a Mi Box to the Chromecast and strangely enough it seems to be impossible to set a custom screensaver from the settings menu?

All I can see here is the Ambient Mode screensaver

The screensaver app I use can send me to a settings menu to choose a different default screensaver so the option is there only it does not appear anywhere on the tv's main settings menu

Is this a desired behaviour? Does Chromecast officialy support custom screensavers or is it just a fluke that the app can send me there and this option would disappear completely in the future?

Ambient Mode is your Chromecast with Google TV device's screen-saver.

It doesn't support screen-saver apps like other Android devices.

I still wonder about the fact that the screensaver app I use can send me to a settings menu to select it as the screensaver though

Could this option not be available in the future?

Gambitdg, while the feature you're looking for isn't available, you can always send your feedback about your Chromecast using the Google Home app. Here's how.
