Audio for Chrome Cast to TV

AJA239

Hi there, I have set up Chromecast with Google TV on to my IOS phone and TV. Seems to be working excepting I cannot get any audio on what is playing. Do I need other devices? My set up is an only slightly smart TV with box and audio via speakers (CD unit). I don’t want to change connections each time. Any suggestions?

Hello AJA239,

Thanks for reaching out. Please try the steps listed below:

  1. Make sure the Chromecast is connected to the power outlet and the TV is on the right input.
  2. Make sure the device you're using with Chromecast is not muted (Examples: TV, mobile device, etc.).
  3. Make sure that the TV, sound bar, and/or receiver is not muted.
  4. Unplug Chromecast and plug it back in.
  5. Unplug the TV and plug it back in.
  6. Check if the no audio issue occurs when you're using different apps and/or websites.
  7. Cast the same Chromecast device on a different TV (if possible).
  8. Perform factory reset. Here's how.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Thanks
No luck
I think it is input/output issue that we have separate speaker system for sound and everything through our box but only one hdmi input on back of box. I invested in a splitter but no luck as maybe that is going wrong direction.

We are the highest tech savvy family but not hopeless either. But this is a bit frustrating. We have a Phillips headset for individual watching and the sound comes through that but not the usual speakers and not TV

Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to us. Could you please try to plug in the Chromecast directly in your TV's HDMI port to check if you'll get the same result?

Best,

Jennifer
