Audio sync drifting?

tenor1111

I'm seeing the audio drift out of sync from the video after a minute or two of casting to a TV. There's no 'groups' involved. And the sync is fixed if I hit pause and resume again. This is happening from multiple apps (Netflix, Prime Video) on iOS and also from Netflix.com streaming via chrome.

I can try tweaking the audio delay settings in the TV, but because it initially is 'in sync' and then drifts out, I'm more confused as to what could cause this? I've tried asking Google Support, but they just keep blaming the wifi. This is on a network I'm getting 200Mbps up and down. I've tried factory reset, wifi reset, and TV restart too.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

Hi tenor1111,

Thanks for reaching out. Let's check on this further.

A few questions: How far is your Chromecast from the Wi-Fi router? Have you tried to cast videos from different apps aside from Netflix and Prime video? If yes, how was it?

Try these steps:

  1. Stop casting on your phone, then try to cast the same content again.
  2. Close and relaunch the Chrome browser, then try to cast the same content again.
  3. Exit any resource-intensive applications that may be running.
  4. Try the standard tab projection quality setting on the options page (When casting from Chrome). Here's how: In the top right corner of the browser, click the Cast icon > Select Options > Under Tab projection quality, select Standard (480p).
  5. Try decreasing the distance between TV, router, and computer.
  6. Uninstall and reinstall the affected apps.
  7. Reboot your Chromecast and Wi-Fi router.
  8. Factory reset your Chromecast again.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Jennifer
