Built in Cromecast on a Xioami P1

I have a Xiaomi P1 TV 43 inch with built in Chromecast. I bugs when I try to cast  different TV-apps. The thing is that I have an extra Google Chromecast dongle fitted and that works prefect with no problems with the same apps. It's really irritating! I have restarted the TV, made a system upgrade and so forth. The internal and the external Chromcast use the same wifi. I tried without the external dongle as well same problem.  Any suggestions on what to do.

Region has no effect whatsoever, because the content you watch from different webpages is also located on different servers.

So, if there is no signal interference around the TV, the issue could be the TV itself (a software bug) or the quality of its network hardware, which might not be able to pickup a strong enough signal to ensure high data transfer rates.

The reason why I tell you this is based on the fact that other people had complaints about the speed of the WiFi component in Xiaomi TV sets and media boxes.

Install an internet speed measuring app, both on the TV and the Google Chromecast with Google TV and compare the results.

Next, if your TV has a wired LAN port, connect it to the wired port of the WiFi router and see how it performs.

If it is possible, you could try to move the router closer to the TV or improve the strength of the WiFi signal in the area.

On another note, it is funny how Xiaomi failed to add Sweden in the list of European countries. I bet they know how big Sweden is, but, maybe they thought the Swedish people usually buy TVs from higher tier manufacturers....😜

Can you be more specific about Xiaomi P1 TV built-in Chromecast behaviour?

Google Chromecast with Google TV dongle is connected to the same Xiaomi P1 TV?

I assume you already have Google Home application installed on your phone and both Google Chromecast with Google TV and the Xiaomi P1 TV are added under Devices section.

It's connected to the same TV.

They are both listed in the Google home Application.

The built in Chromecast is just bugging and and the updating symbol for the TV-app that I try to cast to the built in Chromecast just keep spinning. When I try it on the dongle it works great.

One thing that I'm thinking about that might be the problem. Is that when setting up the TV Xiaomi says that since Sweden is not region to choose yet you have to choose Poland instead.

But I really don't no.

It has nothing to do with the region, because the TV is supposed to work even for the polish people as long as it has 220 V power supply.

The issue might be as follows:

Check if the TV has dual band WiFi (2.4 and 5 GHz). If it only has 2.4 WiFi networks and is surrounded by some large objects, mounted inside a bookshelf or is there anything around it that might interfere with the WiFi signal, like an active Bluetooth device or mobile phone, you might experience some instability.

Furthermore, I will advise you not to have the Google Chromecast with Google TV powered up when you want to use the smart TV own built-in Chromecast.

Also, when you want to watch some videos or movies from a web page, even if the web page offer a direct cast button, try to use Google Home Cast my screen command, because it works better, even if you can't turn off the phone screen by doing so.

I've tried with the dongle chromecast connected and disconnected (no difference). The TV has dualband Wifi. and there's no Bluetooth interference around the TV which is wallmounted with no interference around it. My thoughts about Poland is concerning that it might somehow be a regional issue. For an example the national TV-app can not be watched in USA due to some intellectual property rights. Xiaomi says that they're working on adding Sweden as an option for the region pick in the TV:s settings but can't say when they will launch the update.

192 Mbps down 123 Mbps up

There is a possibility to chose sweden as a country but when you on the next level is supposed to pick the region the written instruction manual says that you should pick Poland since they haven't added the Nordic countries yet.

That's the Xiaomi wireless I believe...

It could be much higher than this on WiFi, over 500 Mbps.

How far is the router from the TV?

Move it closer if possible or install a repeater.

It is pretty close to the router. The thing is that I can watch Netflix and other streamed media perfect on the apps installed on the TV. It's just the  internal Chromecast that doesn't work. Really annoying.

Once again, is funny how they implemented this, because region should be Europe, East, West, Central or whatever, and countries should fall into the region.

So, if you use Cast my screen command from Google Home, how does it behaves?

Have you tried clearing cache and data of Chromecast built-in (formerly Chromecast Android Shell) application? You can find it in the system applications.

Cleared it. Same problem. I will return the TV and pick another brand! Hopefully one that works and doesn't bug this much. No more Xiaomi! Thanks for all the help.

Don't mention it!

Unfortunately it seems that Xiaomi TV built-in Chromecast routine needs some fine tuning by their development team.
