CCGTV won’t install apps

I’m having a similar issue to

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Chromecast/Chromecast-won-t-download-apps/td-p/187841

I’ve tried clearing cache and the suggested but nothing is working.

Some parts are unclear and maybe that’s where my issue is:
1) how do I know if I cancelled all pending apps? I cancelled the 4-5 default apps that you install on a factory reset.

Step 3) I cleared and deleted data.

4) says “delete all the updates”. I cleared cache and deleted data.

7) when I get to this step, I try to update the apps as suggested but they get stuck in pending as well.

Should I return the unit? Any other tips? I don’t have Wifi restrictions or anything fancy set up as a home network.

These are the only apps that installed after the factory reset (which I’ve done a few times now). This unit also doesn’t show up to cast from my phone (but my Chromecast Ultras do).

Hi dar3k,

Thanks for reaching out. I know how challenging it is when you're having issues downloading apps on your Chromecast with a Google TV device. To confirm, have you tried the steps shared by @RachelGomez123? Just to add, you can also try doing a sequential reboot to refresh the connection of your devices. Unplug your Chromecast with Google TV, and router from the power source. Leave them unplugged for 2 minutes, then plug them back one at a time with intervals.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi! The suggested steps didn't help but I tried tethering off of my phone and that allowed me to download the apps. They work fine on my Wifi. I guess there is some sort of block in my router but I haven't set anything special. It's a Starlink router in case you get this issue from anyone else. 🙂

Thanks for the help!
