CCWGTV Video Calling Zoom or Facebook Messenger

Has anyone been able to get Zoom or Facebook Messenger to work on CCWGTV. 

I have a CCWGTV setup with a USB-C hub and connect my Logi Webcam to the USB-C hub.

The Google Duo app works fine both Video and Audio 

I have side loaded Zoom and Facebook Messenger..

The apps run and work with Video but no Audio ...

Are there some addtional settings that need to be configured to get Zoom and Facebook Messanger Audio working?

Why don't you use a  web browser to acces the application functionalities?

I have tried zoom and Facebook messenger in a couple of browsers on the CCWGTV and the webcam mic does not work. So I can see and hear the person calling me and they can see me but cannot hear me.

Use a separate usb microphone.

I have tried using a separte usb micorphone.. Its strange. It appears that there is some funtionallity missing from the CCWGTV OS that would allow you to select the mic that you want to use.. Duo works fine with the Logitek WebCam and it defaults to the Webcam camera and mic. There does not seem to be any function/option in the app or OS to select a different mic.

Acces developer settings and enable audio recording.

Thanks I verified the setting for the app and well as developer mode and all set to on … I have seen come other people have same issue but one says it’s working with a Microsoft Lifecam. I am not sure what model but I will give that a shot

I am still experiencing the same problem.. 

The Webcam Mic only works with the Google Duo appliation.. Zoom, and Facetime Messenger still do not work..

HI all.. well very little progress on getting Zoom working on CCWGTV.. 

I did try something different.. I found a browser JIOPages and loaded it on my CCWGTV and tried Zoom in the browser mode. .. I have I actually to my surprise was able to get the Audio to work for a short while then it quit and I havent been able to get it running again. With the JIOPages browser when running the Zoom from the browser .. it allowed me to go into the audio options of Zoom and I could see 3 options for the microphone.. System Default, Speaker Phone and USB Mic.. I had selected the UPS Mic and this was when I was able to get the audio to work but only for a short period and then it stopped.. 

 

Hopefully others have had better success. 

 

Please if anyone has Zoom working on the CCWGTV please let me know what you are doing.. ((( when i say workiing i mean that Audio is working so the others can hear your voice )) Video seems to be working fine and audio is fine from the other participants.. Its just the audio from my side.. ))

Hi Jeff007,

 

Sorry for the late response here. Zoom and Facebook messenger isn't supported yet when using the Chromecast with Google TV. You could try to do some workarounds shared by other users, but please take note that this may or may not work. I'd suggest, you send feedback about this using the Google Home app. Every bit of data they can receive about this will help them to add more features in the Chromecast devices. Here's how.
