Can not program Youtube button to open Youtube TV again

TheDude

I had it set where the Youtube button on the remote would open Youtube TV.. but.. for some reason it reverted to opening the Youtube app.  When I try to revert back by holding down the Youtube button it just has a spinning graphic and I am not offered Youtube TV as an option (?)

Please help.

My Elderly inlaws are using this unit and they are having a LOT of trouble since now the instructions have to change.

I actually fix this by uninstalling the YouTube app… Then when I held down the YouTube button I was able to choose YouTube TV as the default again.

You shouldn't have to uninstall the YouTube application to be able to map the YouTube button to YouTube TV, because this functionality is built-in to Google Chromecast with Google TV device, so it should work as designed.

Try to unplug your Google Chromecast with Google TV from the main power grid for about 5 minutes, then plug it back in, allow it to fully load and connect to the internet. Lastly, hold the YouTube button on the remote until it offers the YouTube applications selection menu. From the YouTube applications selection menu, select the YouTube TV app.
