Can't Find Device

So I factory reset my chromecast and got it connected to my new wifi, but as soon as I went through all the steps it now says my device can't be found. Why would it only work/be connected only up until it says it's ready to be used?

I apologize about the late response, I appreciate your patience! Are you still having this error? If so, I'd be happy to help you out. Let me just ask you some questions, so I can better understand what's happening:

  • What is the make and model of the device you used to cast?
  • Can you not cast from Chrome nor an app?
  • Do you have a dual-band router?
  • How far is your device from the router?

Aside from that, I would also check out this article on common Chromecast connection issues and make sure everything looks good from there.
