Can't get password to register on my server Telcel-37CD.

Having tried to run chromecast on another server, I can't now get Google Home to accept my PW on my server Telcel-37CD.

 

Other apps. No problem to register PW.

Help.    Any ideas

Unfortunetly, I haven't found any solution to make my Chromecast configure to my Telcel server here in Mexico. The server isTelcel-37CD/

The device worked fine on this server, then I tried it on a friends' server, 

It configured fine on their system, and still does. However, when I try to reconfigure it to my Telcel server, it  refuses to accept the (proven valid) password on my Telcel router

Telcel techs say there is nothing wrong with the Router.

The simplest way, of course, would be to simply buy a new Chromecast, but what if I can't configure the new one either?

Is it possible that my existing Chromecast can have the friends' password "frozen" in its memoryAny help go can suggest would be appreciated

Hi Jennifer,

                   I would like to thank you and your colleagues for all your help concerning the Chromecast problem.

I've been very  busy recently, and haven't yet checked Jeran's suggestions.

I''ll try to do this duriong this week. 

I think we've then probnably gone as far as we can with this problem. Probably I'll just buy a new Chroecast and try it.

Thanks for reaching out. To confirm, are you using a VPN? If yes, I'm afraid Chromecast and Google Home devices doesn't support the use of VPN's.

Yes, I do use a VPN, but it is switched off on all my devices.  Do  I need to uninstall it?
 
Full story is, I've had this Chromecast for some months now, and int has worked fine on both my laptop and mobile phones.
 
I took it off my TV to put it on a friend's TV, to see if their system and server would support it  ( It worked).
 
 
Now I can't reconfigure it on  mine. I'm in Mexico, and using Telcel server.
 
if you have any suggestions I'd be very grateful

Hi there,

 

Thanks for getting back to us. It may work previously with your setup, however the Chromecast device is still recommended to be connected to a home WiFi network where the VPN setting is disabled in the WiFi router for you to be able to set it up and use again.

Hi Jennifer, thanks form chasing me up.
 
I do want to solve this problem, but I've been pretty busy on other things right now.
 
It seems to be a problem with my router. As we speak, the Chromecast is working fine on another router.
 
I think my next step is to take my router to the Telcel Tech guys, as it is a Huawae router supplied by them, but I would like to keep the door open to come back to you

No joy so far.
 
I'm trying to get the loan of another Chromecast to see if it's only my CC which won't attach to my router ( Telcel/ Huawei)
My CC is working perfectly on someone's Movistar system
 
Is it possible that another's PW is somehow "locked" in the CC so that it won't let any other password register?
 
Any other suggestion?

Thanks for the update. You may try to factory reset your Chromecast and set up again on your network. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
