Can’t select set-up remote Chromecast

When I select set-up remote buttons, just get spinning wheel. No option to select further

I had this or a similar problem. It was failing while trying to set up our connect the remote, ie like when you're setting up the remote, and you have to hold down the back and home keys until the remote led flashes. I assumed it was because the remote had gotten wet. So I wonder, EviVam, whether your light would flash after holding down the back and home buttons for a while? I didn't throw the remote away, and it would be nice if there were no need to. Thanks

The remote is connected, but want to set up the volume and other things on remote, but won’t give me a menu when I select that option

I am sorry about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that remote issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I can imagine this issue is hard to troubleshoot alone. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • What color is the LED light on the remote?
  • What is the firmware version of the Chromecast?
  • What is the firmware version of the remote?
  • Are you able to set up the remote as IR?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

Hi folks,

 

How's it going? Still need help? If yes, please check this support website article to see how you can set up the buttons on your Chromecast Voice Remote. If you're still having issues, please remove your TV and re-add it then try again. Rebooting your Chromecast and plugging it on a different HDMI port on your TV might also help.
