Hey community,
This sounds bonkers, but just got an iPhone and using it with a Chromecast Audio device has been really hit and miss. I have Google Home app setup on the iPhone, and the Spotify app works fine for casting.
BUT I can't cast from YouTube (??) How does these Google products not talk, there is no option on the YouTube app to even find Chromecast Audio! (Please tell me I'm missing something).
Also, I cannot cast audio from the Chrome browser on my iPhone to the Chromecast Audio dongle, WHYYY? Is this a iOS barrier to all things Google? It's super frustrating, definitely glaring at my iPhone a lot, it's really only better at video (the only reason I got it)... are there workarounds here I just can't find yet?

There are a couple of things going on that are blocking you.
First, the YouTube App is a video app so it can only talk to video Chromecast devices (not Chromecast Audio). Spotify works because it is an audio-service so it talks to both versions of Chromast devices.
The mobile version of Chrome browser is not designed to cast so I would not expect that to work with anything.
Unfortunately, Apple declined to support screen/audio mirroring in the Google Home app. That's what we would suggest when all else fails but that only works on Android devices.
