Cannot change Chromecast output resolution

In Google Home app there used to be an option to set Chromecast output resolution. But after recent updates this option has disappeared causing comparability issues while converting HDMI to VGA. Now I cannot use my 720p vga monitor with Chromecast as it says input not supported as Chromecast is outputting 1080p@60 when I need is 720p. I really hope this request goes to developers and we can have more control over our hardware.

Hey there Chiragdhawan630,

I'm sorry to hear that your setup no longer works, I can imagine that is pretty disappointing. If changing the resolution of the Chromecast is something you'd like to see in the Google Home app, I would highly encourage you to submit feedback via the Google Home app. However, the Chromecast wasn't designed for us with VGA adapters nor monitors. A 720p TV for example can take a 1080p resolution and scale it down, while a monitor via VGA may not.

I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help, but if you had any other questions or concerns, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran
