Casting stops when Chromebook sleeps

Casting stops when Chromebook sleeps.
The audio cast and Chromecast operations should continue to stream even when the Chromebook sleeps, that is what they were designed to do so that your phone doesn't use power when streaming. It works like that on phones and tablets but not on the Chromebook duet.
I have been disabling sleeping but this is not a good workaround, please ensure casting continues in chrome OS Android apps

apps affected,  YouTube music, spottify, catch-up TV apps, netflix

Chromocast audio don't run its own operating system in order to be able to take full control of the stream.

For this, you need Chromecast with Google TV which runs its own operating system. On Chromecast with Google TV, from the moment I press cast on my phone, the Chromecast device takes over and I can move the phone else where, even switch it to another WiFi network inside my home.

Now, in your case, if music is your interest, it may be a better idea to use an audio network streamer, This way, you can use the Chromebook for other tasks or even let it rest, to preserve battery life.

Set your Chromebook to keep WiFi connected during sleep.

Check the applications settings for options to keep it alive during sleep.

Thanks Djtetei,. That is what I have been doing disabling sleep when cover is closed or when idle, but it isn't great for my battery life, casting should hand over the URL stream to the cast device, that's how Android apps handle it, the same Android apps installed from the play store on the Chromebook don't do this. I think it's a Crome OS issue on my Lenovo Duet.
