Chomecast with Google TV blinking on and off

Having an issue with Chomecast with Google TV continually acting like it is disconnecting from the HDMI port and causing the display to “blink” off and on. 

the display is a Vizio E75-E1

the chomecast worked for a week or so without issue and then just  started this yesterday. 

I’ve tried other hdmi ports and rebooting the chromecast 

Had a chromecast ultra attached to the same display for a year+ without issue. 

Any suggestions?
