Chromcast doesnt show on TV/ black screen

My TV shows no signal when I switch to the HDMI input my chromecast is in. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps and still nothing.

What is the LED status on the Chromecast? Try both of these troubleshooters and let us know all the details if you still have trouble.

Hi JillG

The LED is a solid white. I went through those troubleshooters and I am still having the same problem.

Hey there,

JillG, thanks for sharing those links.

lemony121, we appreciate you doing those steps. Have you tried plugging your Chromecast to a different TV? Could you try these steps:

  • Shut down the TV completely (power off and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet).
  • Leave the TV off for 2 minutes. Disconnect all other devices that are connected to any of the HDMI ports on TV.
  • Press and hold the power button of the TV for 10-20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power source to the Chromecast device but do not plug the Chromecast into the TV HDMI port.
  • Plug their Chromecast's power cord/power adapter directly into the wall outlet.
  • Wait 30 seconds. Plug the Chromecast device into an HDMI port on the TV. Select the HDMI port that doesn't have the label HDMI-DVI.
  • Change the TV to the same HDMI input as the Chromecast.
  • Perform an FDR and proceed with setup.

Hello Alex,

I am still unable to get a signal on my tv with the chromecast. I have tired all the recommended troubleshootings. So any other help you give would be great

I have tried it in 3 different tvs. And the other chromecast I have works in all of the other 3 tvs.
