Chromcast is slow after upgrading to Android 12

After upgrading to Android 12 Chromecast is slow to react both on remote and on paired phone's virtual remote. Sometimes it lags, sometimes it treats a single click as like I'm holding the button. Especially annoying when it's a volume button. Android 12 feels slow on Chromecast, even when simply casting youtube from my phone. Is it possible to downgrade to Android 10?

Hey Baggio18,

Thanks for posting. I'm afraid there's no option to revert to the old firmware version. However, please try to reboot your Chromecast and plug it in on a different HDMI port on your TV. If the issue persists, factory reset your Chromecast.

Regards,

Jennifer

Did all you've just proposed before creating this issue. Including factory reset. Nothing has changed, slowness still persists.

Hi there,

Understood. Please try the additional steps below and let me know how it goes.

  1. Move the remote closer to the TV. If casting from a phone, make sure you're close enough to the TV.
  2. Move the dongle away from other HDMI cables.
  3. Move the position of the dongle, and flip it over.
  4. Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
  5. Plug in your Chromecast into a different TV screen, if one is available

Thanks,

Jennifer

Move the remote closer to the TV. If casting from a phone, make sure you're close enough to the TV.

- Im always in 2 meters from the chromecast. When casting from phone distance doesn't make any difference as it goes through the wifi router anyway.

Move the dongle away from other HDMI cables.

-Chromecast is one and only input to my TV.

Move the position of the dongle, and flip it over.

-I can't flip it over, it's cable would twist too much. Tried to control it holding remote 5cm from it, makes no difference.

Reboot your Wi-Fi router.

-Done. Chromecast is still slow.

Plug in your Chromecast into a different TV screen, if one is available

-Plugged it into my computer's screen. Started up, works. Still slow.
