Chromecast won't connect through the Home app. I've gone through the whole procedure, it says connected and gives you the 4 character code, click on the wifi ssid and it says "Cannot connect - check your input". I've done numerous factory resets on the chromecast and router. I have a solid white light on the chromecast and I can't connect to the chromecast ssid as it says it can't find the IP address. It is infuriating. Please help 🙏

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us.
Quick question: What's the distance between the router and the Chromecast device? Please manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone’s Settings > Open WiFi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.

Hi Jennifer. Router is about 30cm away from the chromecast. Can't connect to the chromecast ssid as it says 'cannot find IP address'. Thanks
