Chrome Will Not Optimize Full Screen On Google Smart TV

Hi all,

Weird issue I've been experiencing. Before I got the Google Smart TV I was just using the separate Chromecast to cast FuboTV from my desktop to the Chromecast. It was working great, always optimized right away and I didn't have to have it ask me every time.

But I recently bought a new 4k Google Smart TV with the built in Chromecast, and now casting from Chrome won't optimize the stream to full screen. I've tried unchecking and rechecking the "optimize full screen video" option. It won't ask me to optimize and won't ask me if I want to and I just get stuck with a pretty laggy and choppy cast.

I've checked the TV settings and haven't found anything to help my issue, nor have I found anything in Chrome. Am I missing something or is there a compatibility issue? I'm lost as to what the difference is from having the separate Chromecast as to the built in one, and what might be causing this issue.

Any feedback is appreciated, thank you!

Hi ncruuds3027,

Thanks for reaching out. Please try the steps below:

  1. Use a different computer/laptop if one is available.
  2. Reboot your TV with built-in Chromecast.

Also, if this is isolated when casting to your TV with built-in Chromecast, please reach out to your TV manufacturer for additional help.

Best,

Jennifer
