Guest mode doesn’t have a pin when enabled. I have done the factory reset and every time after the reset from an android device I can enable guest mode and it provides a pin. Once I navigate away from the chrome cast device and then go back to it and in to the settings the pin has disappeared.
It also used to show up on my TV screen but no longer does, even after factory reset in process mentioned above.
Additionally, above reset process doesn’t work when using an iPhone.
Spent 30 on the phone with tech support services and no change.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hey there Grainslie,
I'm sorry to hear that the Chromecast's Guest Mode is having issues. I can imagine this issue is pretty frustrating, so I'd be happy to help out. First thing, what version of Android and iOS are you using? Here is some information regarding those devices and Guest Mode:
Note: Make sure you allow Google Cast to use your network information.
Android 12
Google Nest and Home speakers or displays and Chromecast devices may not be discoverable for mobile devices on Android 12.
During the setup, your mobile device may ask you to "Allow Google Cast to use your network information."
Go to Settings Use network information
Continue.
You may also have the option to select Not now, but if they select this option, you cannot continue with the setup.
iOS 14 and later: You must enable Local Network Access for casting.
Of course, after that, make sure you restart your mobile devices and try again. I look forward to your response on this, let me know if you had any other questions or concerns.
Best regards,
Jeran

Hi Jeran,
Thanks for the response and sorry for my late reply.
The Android is a Samsung Tab A running 7.1.1
The iOS is an iphone running 15.4.1
I can cast fine to the TV on my local network on all my devices. The problem is only with the guest mode. In the past the PIN showed on the TV screen when the chromecast was connected. The PIN stopped being displayed at some point but we never needed to use the guest mode.
I have been trying to set-up guest mode to use the Chromecast with my car entertainment system, when there is no wifi signal. I had watched a youtube (unfortunately I can't find it right now) that showed the setup and have all the cables and adapters required. The only thing I need is the Chromecast guest mode functioning properly, which it is not.

Hiya Grainslie,
I'm sorry to say, but the Chromecast does need a Wi-Fi connection to function properly. What I imagine the video did was use a Mobile Hotspot, however this is not an approved network type and would vary from device to device. I would recommend that you check out this article if you need to troubleshoot further.
I wish we could have been more helpful, but did you have any more questions or concerns we can address?
Best regards,
Jeran
