Hi Sudy28,

Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out.

A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? Is this only happening when connecting a Bluetooth device to your Chromecast?

Give these steps a try:

  1. If you have a Chromecast with Google TV (4K) or (HD), please try connecting a different Bluetooth device and check if the same issue persists.
  2. Reboot your JBL Bluetooth headset.
  3. Reboot your Chromecast device.

Note: Please be advised that connecting a Bluetooth device is only supported on Chromecast with Google TV devices (4K) and (HD).

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

First of all, thanks for looking into this for me.

I’ve tried all your suggestions with no joy. So far, it only happens when I connect my JBL headphones or my Bose Soundlink Mini to my Chromecast HD via Bluetooth. Just fyi, the TV is a Kogan 70” LED.

The TV and sound goes to sleep after about 15min. The picture and sound both return as soon as I push the centre button on the Chromecast remote.

Here are the details of each of the devices.

Hello Sudy28,

Thanks for getting back to us. Could you please factory reset your Chromecast with Google TV (HD) and try to pair your Bluetooth device? Also, if one is available, try to plug in your Chromecast with Google TV (HD) to a different TV screen and test.

Also, please edit your reply and remove photos that are showing the serial number, MAC address and IP address. This is for security and privacy reasons.

Best,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

All sorted, thx for your help. It was all good when I used another TV.  So I’ve disabled the HDMI-CEC feature on the Chromecast HD. The TV & sound doesn’t go to sleep when I connect via Bluetooth now. But because I’ve disabled the HDMI-CEC it’s created issues with connectivity to my BOSE sound bar. Looks like I’ll just need to come up with a strategy in regards to how I use devices and the settings I use. Again thank you for your help.
