Hey there OP,
I'm sorry about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to get the answer to your question? If not, I'd be happy to help out! Now, you do not need to upload local files to a server. Using Google Chrome, you can cast local files from your desktop or from the browser itself. If you need help on how to do so, let me know!
I hope that answers your question, if you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to ask me.
Best regards,
Jeran

I made a music player app which having only local files, i want to cast these local files. After so many research i got to know that i need local server to cast these audio files. Ah, no problem! For that, you may want to check out the Google Developers site for casting. They should have plenty of documentation and support there to help you out. I'm not sure if there are any Chromecast developers on this particular forum.
I hope that helps you out! If you had any other questions or concerns, feel free to ask.
Best regards,
Jeran
