ChromeCast Can't be seen by Home

Two days ago I tried to setup a Chromecast in my garage through a new WIFI extender, where it had previously worked but had a weak signal to the router.

I found that after resetting and setting up chromecast through the wifi extender that the Google Home app can't see it and I received a message stating it was setup but I need to disable AP Isolation.

It's displaying the correct time and the pictures are also changing, so it is connected to my WIFI but annot be seen.

I bought the new extender into the house and reset another of my Chromecasts and connected it through the extender and then found that this Chromecast also can't be seen in the Google Home app.

Naturally, by this time I am thinking the new WIFI extender is the problem.

I reset the Chromecast again, this time connecting straight to the Router as I normally would only to find that Google Home still can't see the Chromecast in the Google Home App and I again got the message about disabling  AP Isolation.

1/The router has not changed, nor have the settings within the router and it's firmware is up to date.

2/ AP isolation/Guest Mode is not on, each time when I try to setup the Chromecasts it says to check that AP isolation is not on, which I have checked countless times and it is definately OFF, also it's called Guest Mode on my router.

3/ I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Google home app on my phone as someone suggested that in something I read and that did not fix the problem.

4/ Other Chromecasts in my house are still working as they should, but those haven't  been reset.

If anyone knows what is going on and how to fix this problem please help me.

At its core, the error(s) you're seeing are essentially saying your phone is not able to communicate properly with your Chromecast. This is typical of what we see with Wifi extenders unfortunately. I'd recommend trying these steps first to see if it really is likely to be an issue with your router's settings or not.

Thanks for your reply David, I found the problem in the end.  There was no problem with my wifi or my extender and it is all working as it should now, It turns out that the Google Home app itself was causing the problem. I rolled back to an older version of Google Home and the error was gone. I imagine they do this in order to cripple peoples devices and to force them into buying new ones.
