Hello.
This has been plaguing me for years and so I'm coming here looking for help.
My goal is to use my ChromeCast in ambient mode in my office to rotate art and ambience for the setting. Previously I used 2 different 1st gen ChromeCast devices and they would never turn off the device unless instructed.
This ChromeCast however seems to break the rules. On two entirely different TVS - one from 2015 and one from 2020 - the device powers down the TV after ~30 minutes or so of ambient mode.
Under "Power & Energy the "automatically turn off" setting "when inactive" is set to "Never" This setting seems to be completely ignored by the device. No option when selected will change the inactivity shut off. I've tried everything from `15 minutes, to 24 hours with change.
I have disabled every "power saving" related feature on the television and it has not changed the situation. This was true on both of the highly different TVs I have tried this one.
Here is the short list of things I've done
The ChromeCast is powered by a wall adapter and not the USB of the TV
The ChromeCast is up to date on the most recent software - though this issue has persisted since I opened the box in 202
The ChromeCast is set to "never" when considering the inactivity timeout
At this point I'm pretty frustrated with the product. It's remarkable to me that my chromecast from 2015 still performs flawlessly but the new and improved one can't do something simple like "remain on"
Hopefully I'm missing something obvious and some of the experts here could help.
Thanks for your time.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. I’m sorry for the trouble, this is not the experience that we want you to have. We appreciate all the details that you shared here. There's an ongoing update that will be rolled out in the coming days. It includes patch fixes for most of the recognized bugs. It should be the versions STTE.230615.004 and STTE.230615.004.1 where this patch fix kicks in. Once you have the update available, make sure to install it. If it's not available yet, give it a few more days. Keep us posted.
