Chromecast 3rd gen no signal white light

I have the Chromecast 3rd gen, it is new. When I connect it to my tv it does not show a picture on the hdmi channel that it is connected to. I can connect and set it up via my google home app on my phone, however “no signal” is always displayed even during the setup. I have tried the reset and connected it to different tv’s with the same result. The power cable has been connected to both the tv and a power adapter.

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. What is the status of the LED on your Chromecast (solid or blinking white light)? Please try the additional steps below:

  1. Reboot the TV.
  2. Check if the power outlet or USB port works for other devices. (for example, plug in the phone to the outlet or USB and check if it charges.)
  3. Try to power the Chromecast from another power source, such as another power outlet.
  4. Try a different power cord (USB-to-micro-USB cable and adapter) than the one that came in the box with the Chromecast device.
