Chromecast 4 Google TV - TV brand Salora not listed

polleke67
Community Member

During the installation of my Chromecast 4 / Google TV to use the Google remote control for my TV volume of TV power, my TV Salora 24LCF-4000D is not listed.

The remote control is RC-D3-03, which is used for some models of AEG, Dual, D-VISION, IPURE, SALORA, SCHAUB LORENZ, SENSY, TELEFUNKEN, TVE, UNITED. I tried all of them, but no luck.

Hi polleke67,

Thanks for reaching out. It looks like your TV isn't compatible with the Voice Remote. Please take note that although there are TV brands that can be setup for Chromecast with Google TV however, not pairable/compatible with the Voice Remote. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this as feedback.

Thanks,

Jennifer

I would already be happy if the Google remote control would power off/on or volume up/down.
Not sure what is required to add a remote control to the Chromecast firmware, but this is the remote control: https://www.amazon.nl/Originele-Afstandsbediening-RC-D3-03-voor-Techniek/dp/B00GVFGJNK

Hi there,

Sorry for the late response. If your remote or TV is not on the list of the compatible device that you can pair with your Chromecast with Google TV, I'm afraid you won't be able to add it up. Again, we'll take this as feedback and pass it along to the right team.

Thanks,

Jennifer

For me there is still a problem. The RC-D3-03 remote control is used for various cheap TVs, so it would be nice if google could just add those remote control codes to the Chromecast 4 Google TV firmware....

Hey there polleke67,

What I would recommend, if you have the time, is that you submit feedback via Google TV. This way, you can let Google know about what TV you own, so they can look at adding that particular brand. What you can also do is search for TV remote codes online and see if any other brand matches the same code as Salora, and select that other brand instead. It may not work, but I've seen some folks have success doing that as a workaround.

I look forward to your response!

Best regards,

Jeran

I provided the remote control model RC-D3-03 for my Salora 24LCF-4000D TV.
I tried all TVs listed in Google TV settings.
I sent feedback to Google TV.

Hey there polleke67,

Thank you for submitting feedback! While Google won't respond back directly to you, they take all forms of submitted feedback seriously, although it will take some time for them to add support to more models and devices. In the meantime, I would see if you are able to set up the Chromecast Voice Remote as IR to control the TV, or even try to use the Google TV virtual remote.

Best regards,

Jeran

Hi Jeran, not interested in using the virtual remote and adding another remote control. The whole point of purchasing Chromecast 4 Google TV, was to provide smart functionality to my old TV and get rid of my original TV remote control (and replace it with the Chromecast Google Remote Control).
As long as my Salora TV cannot be controlled by Chromecast Google TV, my problem is still existing.

Chromecast does need a firmware update to fix the problem over HDMI CEC function. I use a listed TCL tv however the remote still cannot power on/off nor control volume on the TV while everything works fine with Amazon Fire TV stick and Shield TV

Hey there Pol,

If you are running into similar issues where the remote isn't fully functional with your TV, would you also be willing to submit feedback via Google TV so that Google is aware? Every bit of data they can receive about this will help them iron out issues in future firmware updates. I appreciate your help on this!

Best regards,

Jeran

Hey there polleke67,

It seems like we are at a standstill since there is no additional updates or information that we can provide. I am going to lock this thread, and if you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to create a new thread.

I appreciate your help, Jennifer!
