Chromecast Google TV - Child screen time being used up while TV off

I am after setting up screen time limits for my son on Google TV.

His screen time is being used up while the TV is off.

Hi @LocoFG - Sorry to hear about that. I think that you might need to physically turn your Google TV off using the remote instead of just turning the TV itself off.  That should hopefully turn the time limit feature off/put on pause.

Hi. That's what I am doing. Switching it off with the Chromecast remote. This also switches the TV off. After that the Chromecast LED remains white and the screen time is used after a while. 

 

I hope you don't mean that I have to unplug the Chromecast dongle every time.

LocoFG, I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Chromecast with Google TV. The screen time should not be used up when the TV is turned off. Let's sort this out.

 

Could you please go to the kid's profile settings and go to screen time and check if the correct time is set? If it has the correct scheduled limit time, please try to reset the time and choose again your desired limit time. See more information here.

 

If the issue persists, try the following steps below:

 

  1. Reboot your Chromecast and TV.
  2. Plug it in on a different HDMI port on your TV.
  3. Remove and add the kid's profile.
  4. Factory reset your Chromecast.

Unfortunately not. Screen time still being used when the TV is off.
