Chromecast/Googletv

Hi I have had my chromecast for about 6 month and today I cant connect I've restarted the chromecast, wifi and my phone. When I restart my  chromecast it says its connected to wifi the losses connection. I've deleted it for my home app and tried to set it up again using the home app and sometimes it finds the chromecast but still won't connect. What else can I do? 

I have no remote as its broken

I have the exact same issue.  Seems lots of people have connection issues.  Google has not been any help in resolving this.

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Chromecast device. Let's sort this out.

 

A few questions: what's the LED status on your Chromecast? What exact message are you getting when connecting your Chromecast to the network? How far is your Chromecast from the Wi-Fi router? If the Voice Remote is broken, what are you using for pairing? 

 

Please be advised that if you have a Chromecast with Google TV, you need to have the Voice Remote to start the pairing then set it up either using the Google Home app or Voice Remote.

I'm trying to set the chromecast up but it seems you cant pair with out the remote so it's now useless am I correct?

Hello there,

 

Thanks for getting back to us. The setup of the Chromecast with Google TV only relies on the Chromecast Voice Remote. Could you please tell me what happened to your Voice Remote? What's the LED status on your Voice Remote? In the meantime, please try to remove the batteries and put it back after 5 minutes. Resetting the Voice Remote might also help.
